FAQ
Common questions.
Do I need an Apple Watch to use Vela?›
No. Vela works with any wearable that connects to Apple Health — including Oura Ring, WHOOP, Garmin, and Hume Band. Vela Lite requires no wearable at all. Apple Watch is the native platform and gives the richest biometric data, but it's not required.
I already have an Oura / WHOOP / Garmin app. Why would I add Vela?›
Your existing app keeps working exactly as it did. You don't lose anything. Vela adds the intelligence layer your device's native app was never built to provide: synthesis across all your biometric data AND your nutrition, fasting, supplements, and wellness logs — delivered as one spoken brief. Your Oura app shows you a readiness score. Vela tells you what that score means given everything that happened yesterday.
What does the 7-day free trial include?›
Every new user hears their first 3 morning briefs free. After that, a 7-day trial unlocks the full Vela Pro experience — all 11 intelligence models, biometric integration, voice logging, Watch companion app, and spoken brief. The trial runs as a standard Apple introductory offer through your App Store account; cancel anytime before it renews. After the trial you choose a plan, or continue on the free tier (manual logging, fasting timer, and step tracking).
When does Oura Ring and WHOOP direct integration launch?›
Oura Ring and WHOOP via Apple Health passthrough (HRV, HR, SpO2, sleep) are available in Release 1 on day one. The direct OAuth2 integration — which adds Oura's proprietary readiness score, body temp deviation, resilience score, and WHOOP's strain score and recovery % — launches in Release 2 (Q1–Q2 2027). Both are included in Vela Pro at no additional cost.
Is Vela available on Android?›
Vela is iOS only at launch. The Apple Watch integration — specifically the background biometric delivery via HKObserverQuery — is a native iOS capability that is essential to the 5am brief freshness. Android support is on the roadmap but not in the first release.
How does Vela handle my health data?›
Your data is stored encrypted with row-level security — only your account can access your personal record — and your identity is never sold or shared. Separately, and only if you give explicit, opt-in consent, de-identified data may contribute to health research; you can decline or withdraw at any time, and data from Apple Health is never used for advertising. Full detail in our privacy policy.
Can I use Vela as a coach for my clients?›
Yes — Vela Coach is designed for personal trainers, performance coaches, and registered dietitians. You get a web dashboard at app.velahealthai.com/coach showing each client's biometrics, device data, nutrition logs, and brief. You can override briefs, set alerts, assign protocols, and see every device your client wears in one view. Three tiers by roster size: Solo $49 (15 clients), Pro $99 (50 clients), Studio $249 (unlimited) — and you earn a 20% revenue share (25% on Studio) on clients you refer. The first 50 SWFL coaches get the Founding Coach offer: Studio features at the Pro price, locked for life.
