About Vela

Built by someone who wore every wearable and still couldn't get a straight answer.

Three trackers on his wrist. A ring on his finger. A nutrition app on his phone. An HRV app. A fasting app. And every morning, the same problem: none of them talked to each other. None of them ever said what to actually do today.

That's the problem Vela was built to solve. Not more tracking. The intelligence layer that makes all the tracking finally mean something.

The Mission

Intelligence that your body deserves. In language you can actually use.

Every wearable brand made the same implicit promise: understand your body. They delivered the data. Nobody delivered the understanding. Data without synthesis isn't intelligence — it's noise.

Vela's mission is to close that gap. To build the layer above all the trackers that actually synthesizes what every signal means — across every device you own, every input you log — and delivers it in plain language before your day begins.

Not a better tracker. Not another dashboard. The first health intelligence platform that speaks your body's language back to you.

"Your wearable tracks. Your body speaks. Vela decodes. That's the only job we were built to do — and we do it across every device you already own."

The Founder

Built in Naples, FL.
By someone who lived the problem.

Vela wasn't built in a lab or a VC-backed startup. It was built by a financial advisor, CFP candidate, and health optimization practitioner who spent years frustrated by the same gap every wearable user faces: brilliant data with no synthesis layer.

The insight came from a specific moment: sitting with an Apple Watch, an Oura Ring, a WHOOP strap, a nutrition app, and a fasting tracker — and realizing that none of them were talking to each other. None of them knew what the others knew. The synthesis had to happen manually, in your head, every morning.

Vela is the answer to that problem. Built for the SWFL health and fitness community first. Scaled from there.

Licensed insurance advisor and CFP candidate based in Naples, FL. Founder of Apex Meridian Group, LLC — the parent entity of Vela Health Technologies and Vela Data Sciences.

Built Vela from a deeply personal conviction: that the health wearable industry had done the hard part — capturing precise biometric data at scale — but had left the intelligence layer unbuilt. The synthesis problem is a software problem. And it's solvable.

Active in the SWFL health and fitness community, which serves as Vela's beta market and early distribution channel. Father of a teenage son. Health optimization practitioner.

Why Now

Three things that made this possible.

01
The Data Is Finally There
200 million wearable users globally. Oura, WHOOP, Garmin, Apple Watch — all producing continuous, precise biometric data. The raw signal has never been better. What's been missing is the synthesis layer above it. That's now buildable at consumer cost.
02
AI Can Now Do What a Doctor Does Linguistically
Claude Sonnet 4 can read a biometric profile, a nutrition log, a supplement stack, and a fasting window — and produce a directive in plain language that a performance coach would charge $300 to deliver. That wasn't possible four years ago. It's table stakes today.
03
Apple Health Made the Silo Problem Solvable
Every major wearable now writes to Apple Health. That single integration point means Vela can read data from Oura, WHOOP, Garmin, Hume Band, and Apple Watch through one API. The infrastructure for multi-device synthesis already exists. We built the intelligence on top of it.
What We Believe

Four principles that shape everything.

Data without synthesis is noise.
Your wearables are producing the most precise biometric signal in consumer history. Without a synthesis layer, it's still noise. Vela's entire reason for existing is to turn that signal into something useful — a directive you can act on before your day begins.
Your existing investment should compound.
You spent $300 on that ring. $40/month on that strap. Years wearing that watch. Vela doesn't ask you to replace any of it. We make it all more valuable by building the intelligence layer that should have shipped with each one.
Intelligence should be heard, not scrolled.
The brief is spoken because that's how directives work. You don't read a weather report to decide if you need an umbrella. Health intelligence should work the same way. One voice. One listen. Total clarity. That's the design philosophy behind everything Vela builds.
Precision earns authority. Vagueness loses it.
Vela never says "focus on your wellbeing today." It says "your HRV dropped 14% from baseline, alcohol model flags residual impact, train Zone 2 only, protein first when you break the fast." Specificity is the product. Vagueness is a failure mode we don't accept.
